Based on your feedback, the Community Alliance is now hosting monthly conversations on topics chosen by the community.

According to poll results, affordable housing is your most urgent issue for discussion. The March 25th meeting will focus on an issue that the Local Trust Committee will soon be deciding on, which is the Affordable Rental Housing Cottages Bylaw 512.

This community conversation will be facilitated as a talking circle, so that everyone has a chance to be heard (or not).

The intention is that we all learn from each other, listen deeply and reflect on our current thinking. And who knows, you may even be inspired to take action together!

There will be no formal presentations made, and no Q & A session. Instead, participants are asked to READ THIS DOCUMENT IN ADVANCE (click to open). There will also be copies available to read at the meeting.

This summary is intended to provide an unbiased view of the many sides surrounding this bylaw, to help you understand it more deeply.

Notes from the meeting will be shared with the Local Trust Committee, so your feedback may impact decision-making.

Even if you have no opinions or comments to share, this meeting will be a lively and fresh way to learn more and connect with others about an important community issue.

These conversations will help participants expand their thinking about each issue, and results of discussions will be shared with decision-makers and the community – hopefully allowing more opportunities for citizen’s voices to be heard.
