Laser-Focussed on Electric Vehicles

One of the Presenting Sponsors of the 2019 Eco Living and Home Tour is Motorize ─ Your EV Store. Talking to owner Julian Sale is a great education!

If you’re in the market for an electric vehicle, here are a few facts that could help you in your search.

Do you think that you have to travel far to find the perfect EV? Think again! You can probably find what you need in Sidney. If you can plug it in and drive it, you can find it at Motorize – Your EV Store. Motorize is the only dealer in BC where you can find any and all brands of EVs: Nissan Leaf, Kia, Toyota, Volkswagen, Tesla, and BMW.

Worried about the expense? Trade in your fossil-fuelled car! Motorize encourages people to bring their gas vehicles and trade them in when they switch over to EV. Julian Sale, the owner of Motorize, said that not a lot of people don’t know this about his business: “We really want to aid people in their transition to clean vehicles. Come take a drive, talk to us about what we can do with their old vehicle.”

Feeling anxious about “range anxiety”? Julian said that “range anxiety is really about poor planning and not buying the right car for your needs.” He added that that’s why customer service is a huge deal for him and his staff. Because his business is laser-focussed on EVs, his staff has exceptional knowledge on every brand and their technology. Customers receive a thorough EV education that helps them plan well. The result? A vehicle that fits their needs and is a car that they love.

What if what you need is a truck? Julian said that, right now, EVs are limited to sedans and sporty cars, and Tesla’s Model X is an SUV. Trucks, for example, just aren’t here yet. But based on the philosophy at Motorize (“If you can plug it in and drive it, we sell it”), it’s likely that when electric trucks do come onto the market, you’ll be able to find them at Motorize in Sidney.

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Motorize. When Julian opened Motorize in 2009, he was committed to selling fuel-efficient, low-polluting cars. As soon as EVs became available, Motorize began decreasing its stock in fuel cars. Since 2016, all the cars that Motorize sells have been electric.

This year also happens to be the 7th Eco Living and Home Tour. One of Julian’s staff will be on Salt Spring Island for the Tour. They’ll bring one of their cars so that Tour visitors can take it for a test drive. And the staff member will be present to answer all of your burning EV questions and to talk to you about trading in your gas vehicle!

Buy your tickets for the Eco Living Tour at Salt Spring Books or online at Eventbrite. The Tour takes place on July 28th from 10am to 4pm. Maps will be available at Salt Spring Books in the week before the Tour so that you can find out where Motorize will be located.
