Waste Management & Carbon Sequestration

A valuable comment from a Transition member:

“Up-cycle rather than recycle.. I have been a member of the Saltspring Solid Waste Advisory Committee (CRD) since it’s startup by Gary Holman MLA.  During that time i have learned  about the waste we generate both liquid and solid and ,of course, the real costs of disposal. the Paris climate accord stated that bio-char is the best carbon sequestration method and can actually reverse climate change within 2-3 years with a real commitment from the countries of the world. my proposal is really quite simple, purchase a Ulysses unit from IRSI-inc.com in Edmonton. i also believe we have on island skilled tradesman and enough  recyclable metal to build a to-scale unit ourselves.
