How to Enhance Biodiversity, Reduce Wildfire Risk, Save Money, and Connect to Your Land

Sat. Apr. 27th (Rescheduled)
2:00 – 3:30pm
Blackburn Nature Reserve
Suggested donation $5 to $10. Refreshments will be provided.

Local ecologist Chris Drake will be giving a presentation to land owners who want to enhance environmental stewardship of their property. Chris’s talk will not only explore the history of land stewardship but will also present research that shows the environmental, social, and economic benefits of stewarding land.

He will also discuss:

  • techniques that he uses for controlling the five or so very worst invasive plants,

  • specific ways to reduce wildfire risk,

  • bird and bat boxes, and

  • other wildlife habitat enhancements.

He’ll wrap up with a quick look at trails, campsites, and other low-impact ways to recreate in nature.
