Our Year in Climate Action

ANNUAL REPORTS

Each year, Transition Salt Spring takes stock of the progress we’ve made together — celebrating local wins, acknowledging the work ahead, and staying accountable to the goals set out in our Climate Action Plan 2.0. Our Annual Reports offer a window into the collective impact of community-driven climate solutions on Salt Spring Island.
In 2024, we saw meaningful momentum across programs focused on repair, reuse, education, restoration, advocacy, and financial incentives. Whether it’s swapping clothes, restoring watersheds, or pushing for policy change, our work is powered by you — our volunteers, partners, and supporters.

2025 ANNUAL REPORT

2025 was a year of deepening commitment - to each other, to this island, and to the urgent work of building a resilient future.

The challenges are real. Climate leadership is eroding globally, communities are strained by polarization, and the climate itself is pushing into uncharted territory. But as Joan Baez reminds us, action is the antidote to despair - and action is what Transition Salt Spring does best.

From islanders growing food and catching rainwater to advocates pushing the Climate Action Plan's 250 recommendations toward reality, our staff and volunteers show up every day to bridge divides and move this community forward. Salt Spring is full of people who deeply care about this place and each other. That energy is our greatest resource, and it keeps us going.
