This guide is designed to provide essential information and methodologies for professionals involved in watershed-level restoration initiatives. The project takes a comprehensive approach, aiming to improve our understanding of the current and historical ecological conditions within the watershed.

One of the primary objectives of this guide is to answer the fundamental question: How have various human activities, such as forestry, fire, and wetland drainage, influenced the hydrological dynamics, freshwater availability and quality (including drinking water sources), and local forest ecology? To obtain the necessary baseline information, we have conducted extensive field-based research.

The findings from our research will serve as the foundation for the second question we seek to address: What can restoration practitioners, land managers, and other experts do to enhance ecological integrity while simultaneously increasing community climate resilience? This guide will provide practical guidance and management prescriptions based on our research findings to help answer this crucial question.
