ERN seeking volunteers to help with a SSI Watershed Stewardship Video Series

ERN (Ecological Research Network) is developing a “SSI Watershed Stewardship” video series.  This video series builds on various SSI freshwater stewardship initiatives, by the WPS, by SSIWPA, and by other organisations, and is designed to provide an educational backdrop to “why are our SSI watersheds are so important?  The planned video has broad SSI stewardship interest group support, and we are looking for a collaborative video working group, to help us move from a stewardship video vision (and storyline) to making the video. See details below and contact John Millson for more info.

  • The main video theme/storyline:
    • Our SSI Water’ provides information on the delicate “water balance” between our island’s ecosystems and the community
    • What are we doing today to improve our understanding of the island’s watersheds.
    • Highlighting stewardship activities in their various forms is to be further developed to help engage stewards and future ambassadors for our island’s watersheds.
  • Volunteers needed for help with:
    • Creative direction to help engage and creatively direct the project interest groups and their story-lines (requires communication, presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills).
    • Support with in-field shoots (lighting, sound, equipment management – training provided).
    • Fundraising (especially targeted film media fundraising)
    • Videography and editing.
    • Technical research on subject materials (illustrations, story lines) for some of the above video content
    • Developing/ adapting video content illustrations to a “local-island” context, (watercolours or other media).
