Exploring Climate Resilience and Forests with Dr. Ruth Waldick!

Earlier this year, TSS Scientist in residence, Dr. Ruth Waldick, joined “WTF Friday,” a group on Cortes Island, to discuss climate change, fire risk, and innovative forestry practices.

She talked about the impact of traditional logging methods on fire risk and the pathways to reducing wildfire threats in our region.

Listen to the entire presentation to hear innovative forest restoration methods such as management of soil moisture, fuel loads, and ignition risk; tools available to private landowners and crown land managers that can support the building of community resilience.

Let’s empower our communities to tackle climate challenges head-on. Take a listen to the presentation!
