Happy New Years!🎉 We’re looking back at the past Happy New Years!🎉

We’re looking back at the past year and remembering the success of our Fall Clothing Swap.

Over 1,800 kg (3,000 lbs) of clothing was collected and 450+ locals came out to refresh their wardrobes. Thousands of garments were kept in use and out of the landfill.

Initiatives like this are made possible by community support. Help us to keep them going:

🌊 Protecting Salt Spring’s Drinking Water 🌊 This 🌊 Protecting Salt Spring’s Drinking Water 🌊

This year, our work on Hwmet'utsun (Mt. Maxwell) is helping safeguard the Maxwell Creek Watershed. By slowing and sinking water in the landscape, we’re keeping more water in the system, reducing drought risk, and protecting the island’s drinking water.

Your support makes this critical ecosystem work possible—help us continue building a resilient, water-secure future for our island: https://transitionsaltspring.com/donate/

We are box #7 "Transition Salt Spring", under the Agriculture & Environment category.

Salt Spring Island is located on the traditional and unceded territories of several First Nations and tribes, including the SENĆOŦEN and Hul'qumi'num speaking peoples. We recognize that reconciliation with the First Peoples of this place is a crucial path we need to follow to achieve climate justice for all. Traditional Indigenous knowledge is essential to help us come together and build the resilience we need to thrive as our our climate becomes more unpredictable and our communities face new challenges.
