And that’s a wrap on our first TSS Auction for Action! Our inaugural online fundraiser was a smashing success, thanks to the generous contributions of nearly 50 donors who offered unique experiences and products celebrating Salt Spring Island and our region. From a five-day shoemaking workshop to a baking day with Adina Guest, a performance with Everyday People, and a rowboat ride to Russell Island with Briony Penn – the winners will have wonderful experiences to cherish forever. All told, 127 participants bid actively right up to the final seconds on Sunday night!
Ken and Denise Hughes were the auction champions with five wins, and we look forward to following along on their inimitable adventures ahead. A huge thank you to Tarah Stafford, our auction co-creator, and to Morgan Fraser/TSS Comms for tirelessly and creatively promoting the event. Thanks as well to everyone in our enthusiastic TSS community who contributed and participated. Nearly $10,000 was raised to support TSS’s work in climate action and building a resilient community for the future.
