The Toy Swap Returns!

This holiday season, Salt Springers are invited to spread joy and reduce waste by taking part in the Community Toy Swap at Meaden Hall. This fun, family-friendly event gives pre-loved toys a second life while helping make the holidays brighter for local families.

WHEN: December 5 & 6th, 2025
WHERE: Meaden Hall, 120 Blain Rd

How It Works

Toy Drop-Off Day: Friday, December 5, from 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Bring your gently used toys, games, books, puzzles, (clean stuffies only), or children’s gear in good working condition. Volunteers will sort and display items for the following day’s event.

Toy Shop Day: Saturday, December 6, from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Come “shop” for free! You do not need to donate toys to participate. Everyone is welcome to find treasures or pick out gifts for the holiday season.

Please bring only clean, complete toys and games in good working condition. No broken items, electronics that don’t work, or heavily worn stuffed animals, please.

This event is free to attend, though cash donations are welcome to help cover hosting costs.

The Toy Swap is part of a growing island movement to share more, waste less, and strengthen community through creative reuse. By swapping instead of buying new, families help reduce packaging waste, lower carbon footprints, and save money during an expensive time of year. Shopping secondhand also reduces the demand for new toy production and the energy required to ship goods from overseas.

“Every toy that finds a new home means one less ending up in the landfill and one more child delighted this holiday season. Many of us have so much stuff in our homes, often plenty of items that aren’t being used. It’s a no-brainer to breathe new life into neglected toys, especially at this time of year. Let’s ensure they fulfill their destiny to be played with and loved!”

Come celebrate the spirit of giving, community, and sustainability — because joy doesn’t have to come in new packaging.
