We are starting a Repair Cafe on Salt Spring Island! Repair Cafe is a neighbourhood initiative that promotes repair as an alternative to tossing things out. Folks can bring their broken items to fix them on the spot with the help of voluntary repairers.
We are looking for locals with different skills who can be present as repair experts during the Repair Cafe meetings. Especially folks who are handy with:
- clothing/textile
- small electronics
- electrical appliances
- gluing/adhesives
And who enjoy sharing their knowledge with their neighbours. We are also looking for people interested in joining our core Repair Cafe planning group!
