Wildhaven and Transition Salt Spring have partnered to create an early eco-literacy nature immersion program on Salt Spring Island. This video shares from the first 6 months of our pilot project, which is a weekly hands-on immersion experience. We are focused on forest restoration and experimental regenerative methods on Hwmet’etsum and other ecological opportunities around the island.
As Climate Adaptation Research Lab Youth, we are grateful for the opportunity to learn and serve on the traditional unceded territories of several First Nations, including the SENĆOŦEN and Hul’qumi’num speaking peoples. In this spirit we walk alongside our indigenous mentor to rediscover together our earth-wise innocence and intuition, Salish history and ancestral ecological practises.
Much thanks to the Salt Spring Foundation and Transition Salt Spring for investing in the children! 🙏🏽
